STM Statue

The statue of Saint Thomas More at the entrance of the Church is a duplicate of the statue in the Chapel of Allen Hall Seminary, Chelsea, UK. St. Thomas More bought 27 acres of land in Chelsea in the year 1524, for the grand sum of £30. On this land he ordered the construction of “The Great House” where he lived with his family until his arrest in 1534. The Allen Hall is situated in the grounds of St. Thomas’ Chelsea home.
