PREPARING FOR SACRAMENTS

Preparing for Sacraments is most important in the life of a member of the Church community therefore proper and careful preparations must be made. The Church offers a time of preparation and facilitation to those who wish to receive the Sacraments as we journey together to understand more fully the great mysteries of the faith.

BAPTISM

If you would like your child or baby to be baptised, please enquire within the Parish Office.

For further detailed information, please see St. Thomas More Baptism Guide.

RECONCILIATION (CONFESSION)

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available half an hour before the Masses (Saturday or Sunday). If you require confession at any other time, please make an appointment with the parish priest.

CONFIRMATION

For those between the ages 15-16, you are to enroll yourself in the Confirmation Class (which is every Sunday).

HOLY MATRIMONY

Couples who wish to get married must undergo the Catholic Marriage Preparation Course (CMPC) prior to booking the Church for your wedding. The CMPC stretches over a period of 7 weeks; one session per week and the duration of each session is approximately 3 hours. Given the circumstances, if the couple is not able to make it for the 6 week program they are to go for a weekend course with the given permission from the priest.

Just before you proceed to the 'I Dos', couples are required to make an appointment to meet the priest for the pre-nuptial enquiry (PNE). This applies to:

    • The Catholic couple residing in the territories of St. Thomas More (STM), St. Francis Xavier (SFX), Assumption Church, St. Ignatius Church (SIC) and Church of Divine Mercy (CDM).
    • In the case of a mixed marriage, the Catholic partner must be a resident of the above mentioned locations.

For further detailed information, please see St. Thomas More Wedding Guide.

VISITING THE SICK INCLUDING ANOINTING
